Welcome to the first week of SAP Community Spotlight for SAP Integration Suite.
In case you didn’t know about the SAP Integration Suite’s Spotlight in June 2023, refer to the blog post by Arti Gopalan.
In this blog post, we hope to showcase the various solutions that are available in SAP Integration Suite for SAP and Non-SAP connectivity.
At this point in time, connectivity solutions are categorized under two major subsets:
Very recently, SAP Integration Suite’s product team made all the connectivity solutions available on the SAP Business Accelerator Hub.
Now, how does this help you?
You could be a customer of SAP Integration Suite trying to quickly find out whether a particular connectivity solution is available, for example, easy ways to connect to the Facebook platform or SuccessFactors system. Or, as a potential customer, you could be investigating all the available connectivity solutions offered by SAP Integration Suite before making the buying decision.
Either way – in a few clicks and one search, you quickly get your answer.

These connectivity solutions help you integrate with SAP and non-SAP applications across a spectrum of software types like Analytics, Billing, Collaboration and Conferencing, CRM, Finance, Human Capital, Spend Management, and many more.
Now let’s investigate a few examples to understand what you get to know from these adapter packages.
On the SAP Business Accelerator Hub home page, look out for the content category *Adapters*.
Case #1: Adapter in Cloud Integration available for all service plans
In the list of packages, search for “Ariba”. Open the adapter package for Ariba and then the adapter.
On the right side – you will find high–level information about the adapter. This should ideally help you get a fair idea about what can be done with the adapter and if it meets your requirements.
On the left side, you find the link to the adapter’s official product documentation that helps you understand the detailed steps involved in configuring the adapter when you use it for your integration needs. This helps you understand the granular details required to get started with your Ariba system, and the mandatory configurations and parameters needed to establish successful connectivity – all this info, even before you get into the product to use the adapter
Case #2: Adapter in Cloud Integration available for certain service plans
Go back to the list of packages, and this time search for “SAP master data”. Find the adapter package for “SAP Master Data Integration Adapter for SAP Integration Suite” and open the adapter.
One major difference from the Ariba adapter is that the SAP Master Data Integration adapter is available only for specific service plans of the SAP Integration Suite. In the overview, you can find more information about the adapter availability.
Case #3: Connectors in Open Connectors
Go back to the list of packages, and this time search for “human capital”. You see a search result that is a combination of an adapter for Workday and a package that contains APIs for some of the leading HR applications.
Open the package “Human Capital - Open Connectors”. You will find a list of human capital applications to which connectivity is supported by SAP Integration Suite via APIs.
Open any of the listed applications and go to the “API Reference” section to find the supported operations.
Technically, this is how it works – the Open Connectors adapter in the Cloud Integration capability communicates with the non-SAP application via the APIs that are available in the Open Connectors capability. The benefit of this approach is that you don’t need adapters in SAP Integration Suite for each non-SAP application. You simply use one adapter that can be easily configured for communicating with a spectrum of applications.
With this blog post, I hope you can now easily look out for the availability of a specific connectivity solution in the SAP Integration Suite.

On the left side, you find the link to the adapter’s official product documentation that helps you understand the detailed steps involved in configuring the adapter when you use it for your integration needs. This helps you understand the granular details required to get started with your Ariba system, and the mandatory configurations and parameters needed to establish successful connectivity – all this info, even before you get into the product to use the adapter

- If you’re a customer, I’m sure you know your service plan, and this info helps you understand whether the adapter is available for you. If the adapter isn’t available, you can make an informed decision about moving to a different service plan.
- If you’re evaluating SAP Integration Suite, you now know which service plan to opt for.

Go back to the list of packages, and this time search for “human capital”. You see a search result that is a combination of an adapter for Workday and a package that contains APIs for some of the leading HR applications.
